Well...Hello there and Happy New Year to you!!! It's been a while!!! Too long in fact!! Sorry bout that. Had a lot of things happen to me in the past few months that kinda distracted me from doing this fun deal here!!
For starters...I was laid off back in November, from my job I had for 12 years. Long Story short...the contract was renewed but for less money, so cuts were made, and I was one of 40 victims. One of my mentors passed away, the week I was leaving. That was a huge shock to all of us who knew him. I was also having an issue with a couple of managers that week...who I did not work for directly...they were kind of supervisors of a software project I was working on...and they pulled such major bullshit with me & work the week before I left...I almost had a huge bloodbath on my hands!! LOL
Since I have been on unemployment, I have been taking up the role of Mr Mom!!! I was doing household chores every day...day in, day out, the routine things. And I gotta tell ya...I don't know how the stay at home moms do it...but damn was I going insane with the routine after 6 weeks!!! I was looking for household projects to accomplish to avoid the routine things!!! KUDOS to all of the stay at home parents!!!
Aside from collecting unemployment, I have been researching online schools, I am looking to finish getting my degree. Two big reasons for it...One is to finish what I started and better myself with education. Two is that apparently...all the companies that would hire for my job experience with what I did with the Navy, want a degree!! They won't exchange the years of experience for the degree...so I guess I gotta get it done!!
So...I started coaching my 3rd recreational sport...this one is Basketball. My youngest absolutely loves it!!! He wakes up early every weekend, ready to go. I am also helping out a friend, and doing her a favor coaching (well...helping to coach) an older kids team, this season as well. So far so good, as our team is 4-0. All tight games...but we have been able to pull them out each time...still pleanty of season left though...so who knows.
Winter is here...and aside from the extreme cold...you wouldn't know it. WHERE THE HELL IS THE DAMN SNOW???!!! COME ON MOTHER NATURE!!! BRING IT!!! A BUNCH OF IT!!! PLEASE???!!! LOL
So...let me see...what else is going on...?? It's starting to get a little gung-ho around here for our 4th Annual Relay for Life event here in town!!! I gotta say I absolutely love this event and all that it stands for!! This year, I am running the event with another good friend as Co-Chair. So far...so good!!! Our date is 3-4 May 2013. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Speaking of which...I cannot confirm yet...but there will possibly be another wrestling show fundraiser. And I cannot confirm or deny that I will get back into the ring again!!! I can promise...it won't be the same deal as last time...not raising money to get me in the ring...just raising money for a worthwhile cause!!!
I started running again!!! I am in training to prepare for the Warrior Dash again this year. But I started a lot earlier this time to prepare!! I am doing this couch to 5K program...so far so good!!! I am enjoying it!!! So yes...if you are feeling the ground shake...that may just be me running around town...LOL
